New York Strip Steaks in Soy and Ginger
1½ pound strip steaks, less than an inch thick
2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1) Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Salt and pepper your steaks and sear them for two minutes a side with some olive oil. Remove them from pan
2) Add the butter. Scrape the bottom of the pan with your spatula to remove any steak bits. Turn the heat to medium. Add the ginger and let it cook for a minute until fragrant, stirring so it doesn’t burn. Add the soy sauce and make sure everything is combined well
3) Return the steaks to the pan for four minutes total, flipping a few times so they get coated in the sauce. They will be medium rare at this point which is right. It’s done
