Hurricane Recipe: Baked Beans and Peaches with Summer Sausage
This week I will be focusing on food you can prepare during a hurricane.
28 ounce can of baked beans (use Bush’s)
16 ounces jarred peach slices, drained (these spiced peaches are good even outside of hurricane conditions)
4 ounces summer sausage, cubed
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
1) Get your sternos going and add the summer sausage to your pot. If they don’t sweat out enough oils, add some olive oil.
2) Add the baked beans and peach slices and stir, continuing until everything is warmed through.
3) Add the smoked paprika and some pepper.
